My own eczema started at the beginning of my teenage years and lasted through to my early twenties. But it was the onset of my daughter Joanne’s eczema which brought me the most heartache and with it, a determination to find an alternative solution to the steroid creams, which had resulted in thinning of our skin.
Joanne suffered for most of her childhood and through her adolescence. It was not the best time in life to be having a further visible disadvantage. Not least amongst the issues surrounding eczema itself, is the psychological impact on, not only the individual concerned, but family relationships and friendships can be adversely affected by it.
The inspiration for my crusade for my daughter, led me back into family history, recalling how my grandparents relied on natural remedies to care for their family, at a time when the NHS didn’t even exist. My research began in earnest, and my discovery was exciting, the results truly amazing for both of us.
It wasn’t until many years later, when my granddaughter Dominica began to suffer with the "family problem" that I became aware nothing had changed regarding the medical treatment of eczema since my youth. I realised there was a great need for and an opportunity, to develop a range of products using a unique combination of natural ingredients, with long historical evidence of helping skin problems. The Grandma Vines Skincare range has become a success, especially for the people who found little or no relief from the normal medical channels and found it using our natural products.
The products have helped thousands of people to manage and control their various dry and itchy skin conditions including eczema and dermatitis, and we are grateful to the many people who have taken time to share with us their testimonies, which are wonderful to read. We are also very grateful for the success stories which filter through from the retailers. The knowledge that a life may have changed and the quality of life regained, that a family has found some happiness instead of tears and frustration, proves that we have achieved our goal.
